I Believe It
Okay, okay, okay .... if Prince can do a rock drum loop and actually make a great song out of it - can't I? Maybe not. Anyhow, Joanna Nalley is the voice quoting Matthew and Mike Roberts (5 O'clock Charlie) is the mo-cooler-than-Bon-Jovi voice.
It was fun doing this. I wanted to do an acoustic guitar rather a chainsaw electric 'cause I thought I was being different. I've heard that was less than a good idea. Go figure.
I've Seen God Move
Okay, so I fell in love with synthesizers for a brieft period. It was fun while it lasted. This meant coming up with poppy litte grooves and such. I think this went over farily well - even though I'm .... rapping? Ohmygosh ... Definitely a white man's rap. Whatever ... I think it actually worked in the end. It's hard being me. Star and all. really ...
Allemande (Corelli) - Jesse
This was fun - Corelli's Allemande was a blast to create using synthesizers (call me Yanni, please - please?) and it was a screaming 80's thing to go from a classical-ish theme into a drum-machined poppy tune.
But .... who's Jesse? A most wonderful friend and brother in the Lord - Jesse Conte. Living in Montgomery now, he and I worked at the Corder Drum Company in Huntsville, AL when I was in school at UAH. Many, many cool memories there. Actually, Jesse gave his life to Jesus at Valley Fellowship (my church) when we had a guest speaker from Kenya - Charles Muyu - see the 'Hands Lifted High' stories - small, small world.
Jesse's a great drummer (featured on 'The Gift' on Christian Music) and a more great friend. Let that be said about all of us - huh?

All Over the World
This was the one that got the airplay. Chris Banks did a bang-up job on the electric guitar parts (like he can't help from doing - got more talent in his pinky than I'll ever have in my life). The song is about missionary friends of mine - Gary Franklin - who ministered in Argentina and Nicaragua and the John Quinley family who are in Thailand.
Wedding Prelude / He Is Lord
Yep, I wrote this for my wedding to Marlene. I dig it. Important thing is: she liked it too. Yessireeee. Got alotta good feedback on this tune.
The initial idea actullay came from many, many years ago when I watched a little boy banging on the piano. The way he was alternating from one note while trying to hit as many keys around it... hard to explain ... sorry.
The tune goes into He Is Lord where the wonderful Betsy Welch joins me on flute. Always a pleasure to play with Betsy. She's the orchestra leader at my church Valley Fellowship and ... well, she's just plain ol' great.
